Welcome to OPE's Psychology Page
Hello OPE family!
I'm very excited to have the pleasure of serving OPE students, families, and faculty as the full-time Psychologist
for the fourth school year! Many ask, "What is a School Psychologist?" It is my job, and my passion, to support students’ ability to learn and teachers’ ability to teach. School Psychologists apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to
help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School Psychologists partner
with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive
learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
OPE has many supports in place to ensure that all children are happy, healthy, and ready to learn. Among those
supports are programs such as The Friendship Bench, social skills groups, individual & group
counseling, psychological testing, support for diverse learners, and more. If ever you have concerns
about your child or need resources, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you, Chasity Johnson
